Reflections on Traveling

I've been back in the USA now for a little under six months and I have to admit that I already want to leave again and have been planning on a possible trip to Japan in a year to see my friends Sean and Mako, as well as a few signature areas I've been wanting to visit for years.

I would love to see the Ise and Izumo Shinto shrines, as well as Osaka, Tokyo, and a few places I'm sure I'm discover and fall in love with in my research about Japan's geography.

I've also been planning on taking Japanese so I can have somewhat of a grasp of the language when I visit. I figure it's also a good idea for my career since I'm a game developer, and Japan is a huge hub for that. I have always been fascinated by the countries rigid societal structure and it'll be interesting to see how strange people are there interacting with each other.

I'll eventually get around to posting the remainder of my photos of Europe up here, it just depends.

I may also be leaving the country to go back to Italy this fall for a short period of time. A good friend enlightened me to this touring tradition called "agriturismo", where you basically work on an Italian farm and get room and board and an opportunity to poke around Italy for a few weeks.

I was thinking it would be pretty awesome to take up, and am thinking about trying to convince a few friends to come along with me. We will see what develops though.

I have the travel bug now, I don't think it'll ever let me go.
